Wayne Rooney has teamed up with Childline to talk to young people about what he’s learned as one of England’s best ever footballers, and support them through his experiences.

The England and Manchester United captain will have a fixed presence on the Childline website in Wayne’s Corner. He wants to let young people know that if they’re facing an issue, Childline can help.

Wayne became the NSPCC’s first Ambassador for Childhood in 2015, supporting our belief that every child should be happy, safe and free to dream. He is a passionate believer in the Childline service, a lifeline for many young people across the UK, offering help and support with any issue they’re facing.

Wayne said:

"Being a dad of 3 young boys changes your perspective on everything. I have realised just how important it is for children, especially young lads, to speak out if something is happening in their lives that shouldn’t be.

"I’m hoping I can engage my young audience with Childline to inspire them and give them the strength and courage to get help if they need it."
