The countdown is on to Parents in Sport Week

Parents in Sport Week kicks off next month – you still have time to join in and make the Sports Parents Promise.

During the week-long campaign (7-13 October), sports clubs and organisations are encouraged to strengthen their engagement with parents, celebrate their positive involvement and share the Sports Parents Promise.

Make the Promise

Parents have until the end of Parents in Sports Week, Sunday 13 October, to sign up and make the Sports Parents Promise to their children.

The three-point promise provides information and advice on being a great sports parent, including how to choose a safe club and how to be a positive role model from the sideline.

Engage and celebrate

Clubs and organisations experience many benefits from involving parents, including helping a child reach their full potential, support in creating a positive club ethos, and increased participation, as well as creating a pool of potential volunteers.

Clubs can encourage sign up to the Promise at events, in programmes or on social media. British Cycling, Kent Sport, North Yorkshire Sport, and the Royal Yachting Association have shared examples of how they've used the campaign to work with parents.

We’d love the Promise to reach as many clubs in the UK as possible so they can encourage parents to get involved and share the word across social media using the hashtag #SportsParents.
