The International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) is a system to complete a criminal records check for people who are UK nationals, or non-UK nationals who previously lived in the UK, who are looking to work with children overseas.
(This is not an alternative system to DBS or AccessNI checking for people working in the UK.)
The ICPC is a joint initiative between the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Command and the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).
If you're a UK national or have been resident in the UK and are intending to travel overseas to work with children, the school or organisation with which you'll be working may require you to provide them with an ICPC.
Before submitting an ICPC application, you should contact your employer to check whether they'll require you to provide a certificate.
