Can you lend sport a hand?

Last updated: 24 Mar 2023 Topics: Safeguarding children

To mark His Majesty The King’s Coronation, thousands of organisations across the country are getting together to give us all the chance to help out in our own local communities.

What’s involved?

The NSPCC has partnered with an exciting initiative to encourage more volunteers to sign-up to support our work in sport and help make sport a safer place for all children and young people.

We’re looking for volunteers to attend local sporting events in their area, armed with resources and information about keeping safe in sport to share with young people, parents and carers and those who work or volunteer in sport.

By volunteering a little bit of your time to engage with communities about keeping children safe in sport, you’ll be helping to make sure everyone in sport knows where to find:

  • information about staying safe in sport
  • help when they need it
  • access to safeguarding training and support

We’re looking for people who are able to donate a minimum of 4 hours of their time, based in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, to volunteer for us.
