Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport is a national, year-round campaign which aims to raise awareness of the important role parents play in keeping their child safe in sport
Alongside the year-round campaign, a focus week takes place during the first week of October to highlight the campaign and launch new resources and guidance for parents and carers.
The focus week brings to life the campaign messages with stories from parents, carers, young people and coaches.
For 2025, Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport will be taking place between 6th - 10th October 2025.
Our campaign aim
Sport is safest when everyone plays their role in keeping children safe! Our aim for Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport is to bring the sporting community together, create an open and inclusive culture where parents feel able to speak up and raised any questions or concerns and help keep sport safe and fun for everyone.
Our objective
For sports clubs and activity providers to build solid relationships with parents and carers so that conversations about safeguarding and positive parental behaviour can happen freely, incidentally impacting children’s safe experiences of sport.

History of the campaign
We started our Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport campaign in October 2016 (previously known as Parents in Sport Week). The campaign runs annually with a focus week in early October, which highlights the importance of parents and carers, and how their involvement in sport should have a positive impact for all.
