This template provides a sample role description (PDF) for a county or regional safeguarding officer (or regional or county welfare officer) role in the context of protecting children in sport.
A regional or county safeguarding officer is the person within a sports organisation with primary responsibility for managing and reporting concerns about children. They also put into place procedures to safeguard children in the county structure, and support club welfare officers where relevant.
