We've developed these sample codes of conduct for you to download and use as a guide when creating your own.
They can help you to promote positive behaviour and manage poor behaviour in your sport or activity.
Each code has been written with the intended audience in mind using age- and role-appropriate language and examples, for example, the code for young children, up to eight years old is just five simple steps, while the codes for older age groups are move comprehensive.
Why use codes of conduct in sport?
The codes let you set clear expectations for everyone involved in sport, including coaches, parents and carers and the children and young people themselves.
By setting clear procedures and expectations of how everyone should behave, they can help keep everyone safe.
For codes of conduct to work really effectively, don't just leave them on a shelf - make them part of your regular communication so that the children and adults involved in your sport and activity remember what they signed up to.
