A policy statement makes it clear to staff, parents and children what you and your organisation will do to keep children safe.
This sample safeguarding policy statement can be used as a template, but will need amendments to suit your organisation’s needs. For example:
Our organisation acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard, protect and promote the welfare of children and is committed to ensuring safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance and complies with best practice and [insert name of regulatory body] requirements.
