Loneliness and mental health in sport

Last updated: 10 May 2022 Topics: Elite athletes Mental health and wellbeing

In this webinar, Di Murray, Training and development consultant at the CPSU, talks to us about loneliness within sport, and how this can be both a sign and symptom of mental ill health.

Di discusses how the additional pressures of competing at an elite and high-performance level can leave young people feeling particularly lonely. She offers some quick activities that you can do with children and young people in your sports organisation to help you to tackle loneliness.

This webinar was recorded in May 2022 in line with Mental Health Awareness Week's 'connect' campaign to tackle loneliness.
