We’ve added a new podcast on how to help you reach your safeguarding responsibilities at your sports event.

Michelle North, CPSU Senior Consultant, and Kayla Xuereb-Shafi, CPSU Information Officer, speak about the importance of considering all things safeguarding when planning a sporting event.

Michelle thinks back on her experience at previous events and looks at what makes events as safe and successful as possible. She discusses why pre-planning is key and how to ensure you’re covering all bases, when the unexpected is likely to happen.

Safe recruitment processes are explored, as well as the importance of looking after the wellbeing of both participants and those working or volunteering at your event. Michelle and Kayla also consider additional considerations if your event requires children and young people to stay overnight.
